rees was born and raised in england, with parents kara and christopher and older brother liam. rees knew from a young age that they didn't feel like a girl, and thankfully had very accepting parents. they were raised in a very open-minded household and, learning the rest of the world could be less accepting, they became rather outspoken about their beliefs. having said that, rees is a very mellow person in general.

they met stan at around age 15 when they both joined the same drama group. they performed in several amateur musical productions together, and even played javert (stan) and val jean (rees) in les miserables.

through performances like this, and doing improv together, they learned that they worked great together and both had an interest in music. stan's best friend since they were young, kat, was a drummer. the three of them decided to form a band - mudpuppy!

rees, stan and kat all went to the same vocational college together to do a music course. they went on to go to the same university.

things were going well for the band, until stan's girlfriend, christina, had an unplanned pregnancy, and their daughter audrey was born. christina died not long after this, leaving stan as a single dad grieving for his partner.

it took a number of years, but the band got to a point where they were able to start making music again, now older and wiser. although they'd never be internationally famous, i like to think they'd get decently popular.

rees now lives in their own flat, and loves their independence as much as they love to spend time with their family and friends. they're known by stan's daughter as uncle rees.
